Face masks are recommended, but NO LONGER REQUIRED in the office, in accordance with the latest recommendations by The Centers For Disease Control (CDC).

We strongly encourage them for those patients who are not vaccinated against covid-19, or those who are at higher risk for infections such as the immunosuppressed.

We also suggest that patients and families try to maintain a “safe distance” from each other.

Additionally, We ask that all new patients arrive at least 15 minutes (ideally 30 minutes) before your scheduled appointment time, in order to complete the check-in process.  If you are an established patient who has not been seen for one year or more, please arrive 15 minutes early to update your information.

VIRTUAL VISITS: REMOTE EXAMINATIONS

Our practice now has the availability to perform an examination remotely. This visit will consist of a face-to-face video chat. We recommend this for problem-focused visits, for example injuries and infections. This is best suited for patients who have an isolated urgent problem and who wish to avoid coming to the office. This is NOT recommended for routine matters. Insurances are covering these services as if they were visits performed in the office.

If this is something you wish to schedule, our office will guide you through the appropriate steps.

The greatest challenge, and limitation, for the visit is how we can measure the patient’s vision, also known as visual acuity.

There are apps available which you can download to your device which can measure visual acuity. One such app is “Eye Chart” or “Eye Chart Pro”. You can also print an eye chart which can be used to measure vision at a distance of 10 feet. We can provide you with that document.

For this visit, you need to have access through your mobile device with camera,  or computer or laptop with a webcam.

Thank you for considering this option.

Welcome to our practice, specializing in Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus and General Ophthalmology for all ages.
